About

With my background in user experience design, I have a strong focus on front-end development. Even though I don’t shy away from difficult technical matters, I always love working on the customer-facing side of digital applications. I chose to work with Mendix because it allows me not only to create apps, but also work closely together with business to investigate business requirements and translate them into amazing applications.

I’ve worked on several Mendix projects, but have also undertaken side activities such as marketing and pre-sales. I have an indepth knowledge of Mendix, including the ability to write custom widgets or Java actions, and working on the CI/CD pipeline. I love undertaking these activities and seeing the positive results in the end.

My first assignment after starting as a freelance Mendix developer. This company did not have any Mendix knowledge in-house but wanted to create a big Mendix landscape of various back-end applications. I was in charge of developing these and educating existing employees about Mendix.

  • Developed a Mendix CMS system to manage website content.

  • Created an ETL tool, synchronizing millions of lines of input from various sources into a coherent Mendix database.

For my Master's, I took on an internship to perform a UX design analysis on existing VISI software. After obtaining my degree, I stayed with the company to apply best practices from my research into the application.

During this period, I worked for several restaurants where I either waited tables and worked the kitchen. Although you could argue that this experience is hardly relevant for my current field of work, I think they greatly defined who I am as a person and my passion for cooking.
